ACORD uses a variety of media to recruit staff. The majority of our vacancies are advertised through local African newspapers, NGO networks and the Guardian Newspaper in the UK on Wednesdays. The Guardian also places our advertisement on their website www.jobsunlimited.co.uk.

Where we advertise depends on the nature of the vacancy. We attempt to identify a media for specific skills, languages, or professions that provides access to the appropriate candidates.

Consultants
Each year we employ a number of consultants on short-term assignments to carry out specific work such as training, gender workshops, programme evaluations and IT consultancies within our programmes. We look for specific skills and experience depending on the nature of the assignment. Consultant’s rates vary according to the length of the contract and on skills and experience.

We have a database of consultants, and welcome applications.

Volunteers
ACORD believes that volunteers can introduce new perspectives to its work and provide support and expertise to compliment the skills of its members of staff.

We wish to introduce volunteers into a culture of good work that will enhance, inspire and empower their work at ACORD, as well as to provide them with new opportunities, skills and valuable experience which they can use while at ACORD and beyond.
