ACORD Signs Headquarters Agreement with Kenya

ACORD recently signed the Headquarters agreement with the Government of Kenya. This is a fundamental achievement for ACORD in its process of relocation of its strategic leadership to Africa.

The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presided over by the Kenyan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ali Mwakwere.

ACORD Delegation was led by the Executive Director, Mr. Ousainou Ngum.
The two appended their signatures on the agreement followed immediately by the Kenyan Minister’s address to the audience in

which he emphasized on the commitment of the Kenyan government in allowing the establishment of International organizations in the country.

“He thanked ACORD for the choice of Nairobi for its headquarters among several African cities. Mwakwere said he supported ACORD efforts in Africa and made a special emphasis on HIV/AIDS.

ACORD Executive Director on the other hand expressed his gratitude to the Kenyan government for the approval and granting of the Headquarters Status.
He also recognized the role played by the Kenyan Government in articulating African issues at a Global level.

He said through its diversity and strength, ACORD would be fully committed in delivering its mandate while in Nairobi
